Meet Talismanic Rebel

Fueled by her love of music, art, culture, and fashion, Talismanic Rebel, LLC (TR) is the creation of Annie Van Lenten, an expert jewelry professional with over two decades of industry experience (formerly of Tiffany & Co., Jason of Beverly Hills, Anna Sheffield, and The RealReal). 

Annie holds a deep understanding of fine jewelry design, manufacturing, operations, gemology, retail, merchandising, pricing, and process. Talismanic Rebel channels this extensive knowledge of craft and industry into a remix of practical business acumen, refined creativity and unapologetic authenticity in the modern jewelry world. 

The Birth of a Rebel

From a young age, Annie had a bright creative streak. While helping out at her parents’ dental practice, Annie began creating mini sculptures with the wax used for teeth molds, when the dentist—none other than her dad—explained that wax carving is also a jewelry making technique. This eureka, “light bulb’ moment sparked Annie’s curiosity, leading her to discover a true passion and deep respect for intricate craftsmanship, well-executed design and the timeless art of adornment. 

Upon dipping her toes into the jewelry industry, Annie discovered the complexity of the business. This sparked her mission to learn as many aspects of mine-to-market as possible.

With a deep understanding of consumer-driven trends, Annie learned the craft, honed her expertise and gained invaluable perspective throughout her career. She has developed her versatility through real world experience, combining traditional jewelry-making techniques within one-of-a-kind operations up to large-scale manufacturing operations. By embracing new work challenges, she welcomed growth and learning through adventure, taking her across the US—from the East Coast to the South, the Pacific Northwest and the duty-free landscapes of Alaska and the US Virgin Islands. The exposure of these bold moves and diverse environments have greatly informed her creative process, reflecting the unique styles of each region and all the brilliant people she has met along the way.
